Pantone announced the Color of 2026 to be “Cloud Dancer”-white. A plain, boring, uninspired, white. In a time where we need hope more than anything, they gave us white. Well, many of us disagree with that choice. As an artist I found it offensive.
Life and hope and love are COLORFUL. My husband and I had color in our vows! So I was seeing the news and filled with dread and in a want to not get too down, I got out my beads and got crafting. I called it color therapy. Periodically I find that playing with color through beads (or sewing) keeps my creativity flowing, and my mood light.
The necklace I made..
And recently these
Here in Portland, the frog has become a symbol of resistance and as such I made a TON of bracelets to hand out at the next protest (and to friends who want to represent!)
Smaller rainbow ones are for kids that attend 😊.
Some protest earrings for myself and friends..
I was in a bit of a beading mood some months ago and made these as well:
Some bracelets I made for myself.
Fun, nautical-themed necklaces made on a cold winter day
Some I made for Cory.
Many of them I made for gifts.
It's always fun when I have something to give to my nieces and nephews.
These were boxed up and sent to my niece on the east coast.
A necklace I made for my MIL.
