After a trip to Crater Lake National Park I realized we could drive through Umpqua National Forest and do the Toketee Falls hike!

I moved to Oregon in December 2014 and Cory moved in the October before and yet we’d not been to Crater Lake until a little over a week ago. It’s not a convenient place to get to as it’s pretty isolated. We were road-tripping for our anniversary and we realized we could make it work on the way home from California!

We decided Crater Lake. Already in Redding,CA we were on track to go there so we decided to see some more sights while we were able. We were cutting our trip short by a day or two by not going to Sequoia, after all.

We decided to go back to the redwoods for our anniversary this year, as we hadn’t been since our first anniversary trip. We did it different this time though with more time in Redwood National and State Parks, and no time in San Francisco.

With Spring fully here I am starting a bunch of projects and taking time to hike in the wildflowers. A number of my projects are in the planning phase, but I thought I would talk a little about how that works with me.

The Portland Japanese Gardens are a beautiful place to get some calm in the city.

I am always trying my best to use my groceries up and minimize food waste. Part of that means figuring out ways to better store some of my groceries so that they don’t spoil or as in the case of bread- dry out as fast.

We got a new sewing machine that works great (it’s a Brother) and I had to try it out!
